Elizabeth,
Hi. There's is not much I can tell you regarding the Eskimo doll.
She came to me with a lot of vintage Fisher Price toys(that's what I
collect). But according to the seller, which was the granddaughter of
the original owner, the little doll was a gift to her grandmother from
her uncle(the grandmother's son)when he went to work on the Alaskan
Pipeline. Going by the age of the granddaughter and her uncle, I
would say this was probably during the mid to late 1960's. There's
also the possibility that she was purchased in Canada(at an
airport?)because in the original tissue paper was an envelope with some
Canadian change(nickle, dime and pennies). I'm unsure of the
grandmother's first name but I believe her last name was Bartell or
Bartelli or some spelling similar and I know she lived in the Chicago
area for many years. Hope this helps with the the little doll's
history, sounds like a fun and interesting quest you've set upon.
Good Luck :-))
